Steamed Winter Gourd

I. Recipe name: Steamed Winter Gourd
II. Ingredients:

½ pound winter gourd*, peeled and thickly
sliced

1 vegetarian chicken leg**, thickly sliced
-
6 thick slices vegetarian ham**
-
2 stems cilantro leaves or fresh coriander, washed and cut into small
sections

Tablespoons vegetable oil

½
teaspoon salt

teaspoon brown sugar
-

teaspoons soy sauce
-
1
teaspoon sesame oil
-
½ cup water
-
1
teaspoon corn starch*
IV. Directions:
-
Pan-fry each slice of vegetarian chicken leg
until light golden brown.

Place 1 slice vegetarian chicken leg and 1
slice vegetarian ham between the two winter gourd
slices.

Steam for 6 minutes.

Cook the starch solution and pour on top of the
steamed winter gourd. Sprinkle with cilantro.

Note:
the winter gourd can be replaced with pumpkin,
hairy cucumbers, or pickling melons.
