Stewed Gluten
 

 

I.     Recipe name: Stewed Gluten

II.     Ingredients:

  1. 500g fried gluten sausage*, washed and drained
  2. 500g fried gluten meatchuck*

(Fresh gluten roll can be used as well.)

  1. 8-10 Tablespoons cooking oil
  2. 8-10 slices ginger
  3. ½ Tablespoon sesame oil 

III.     Seasonings:

  1. 200g vegetarian flavored sauce *
  2. ½ teaspoon vegetarian seasoning*
  3. 1 Tablespoon light soy sauce*
  4. 1 Tablespoon sugar
  5. 1-2 teaspoons salt
  6. 2 Tablespoons dark soy sauce*
  7. White pepper (to taste)
  8. 2 cups water

IV.     Directions:

  1. Heat 8 Tablespoons cooking oil in a frying pan. Stir-fry the gingers on medium heat until light golden brown.

  2. Add all the sauce ingredients and covered with a lid. Bring to a boil.

  3. Add the fried gluten sausage and fried gluten meatchuck. Continue to stir to allow the sauce absorbed into the gluten. Turn the heat to low, covered with a lid and cook for 12-15 minutes. Stir the fried gluten occasionally while cooking.

  4. Finally, add sesame oil and 2 Tablespoons cooking oil.
