Roasted BBQ Gluten

 

I.     Recipe name: Roasted BBQ Gluten

II.     Ingredients:

  1. 600g fried gluten meat chuck*, washed and drained
  2. 5 Tablespoons cooking oil
  3. 1 teaspoon sesame oil 
  4. 1 ½ teaspoons corn starch
  5. 2 Tablespoons water

(Fresh gluten roll can be used as well.

III.     Seasonings:

  1. 50g char siu sauce
  2. 2 Tablespoons sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon salt
  4. 1 ½ Tablespoons dark soy sauce
  5. ¾ Tablespoon light soy sauce
  6. ¼  teaspoon vegetarian seasoning*
  7. Pinch white pepper
  8. 1-2 Tablespoons maltose
  9. 1 cup water

IV.     Directions:

  1. Mix corn starch and water together. Set aside.

  2. Heat 4 Tablespoons cooking oil in a frying pan on medium heat. Add in all the seasonings and bring to a boil.

  3. Add in the gluten meat chuck and stir-fry until the gluten absorbed sauce. Turn the heat to low and covered with a lid. Cook for 12-15 minutes. Keep stirring the fried gluten occasionally while cooking.

  4. Finally, add the sesame oil, 1 Tablespoon cooking oil, and corn starch mixture. Continue to stir for 30 seconds. Serve.
