Vegetarian Oyster Sauce Gluten Slice

 

I.     Recipe name: Vegetarian Oyster Sauce Gluten Slice

II.     Ingredients:

  1. 600g gluten balls*, washed and cut into ½-cm slices
  2. 5 Tablespoons cooking oil
  3. ½ teaspoon sesame oil 
  4. 1 ½ teaspoons corn starch*
  5. 2 Tablespoons water

III.     Seasonings:

  1. 4 Tablespoons vegetarian oyster sauce*
  2. 2 teaspoons sugar
  3. ½ teaspoon salt
  4. 1 Tablespoon dark soy sauce*
  5. ½ Tablespoon light soy sauce*
  6. ½ teaspoon vegetable seasoning*
  7. White pepper (to taste)
  8. 1 cup water

IV.     Directions:

  1. Mix corn starch and water together. Set aside.

  2. Heat 4 Tablespoons cooking oil in a frying pan on medium heat. Add all the seasonings and bring to a boil.

  3. Add the gluten balls and stir until the gluten balls absorbed the sauce. Turn the heat to low and covered with a lid. Cook for 12-15 minutes. Keep stirring the fried gluten balls occasionally while cooking.

  4. Finally, add in the sesame oil, 1 Tablespoon cooking oil, and corn starch mixture. Continue to stir for 30 seconds. Serve.
